Sahmyook Health University Department of Social Welfare is introduced here.
The department is designed to producetalents capable of providing professional senior welfare service based on social welfare science to tackle issues of aging population rapidly emerging in the contemporary society. The department also provides field practice courses offering field education opportunities as well as theoretical classes focusing on systematic curricula for providing better welfare service. It also strives to producespecialists required in the aging society by providing the students with opportunities for domestic and overseas service and training while obtaining certificatesfor providing professional senior welfare service.

Concentrations and Specialties

Courses include: Theories in Social Welfarestudying senior citizen issues and senior welfare policy programs for providing elderly-centered services;
Theories in Elderly Nursing and Carefor overall understanding of systems and services related to long-term senior care insurance and studying specialized job ethics
Students learn case management acquring overall knowledge and techniques for case management while easily understanding and analyzing cases based on cases of fields where social welfare is practiced;
Students also learn skills or techniques for caring senile diseases while truly understanding care service as social workers; and care techniques and introduction to care researching techniques for enhancing the life quality of senior citizens.

  • private licenses: Silver coaching counselor, Laughter coaching instructor 1st grade, Senior citizens health and exercise instructor 1st grade, MOS qualification certificate
